The word „mantra“ comes from the Sanskrit, the root „man“ meaning „to think“ and the suffix „tra“ meaning „instrument.“ So literally translated “mantra” means “instrument of thought.”

What is a mantra and how does it work?

Essentially, a mantra is the rhythmic arrangement of sounds, words, phrases, or syllables which when sounded create specific powerful vibrations and effects. 

Mantras are words of power! However, for the power inherent in the words to take effect, they need to be articulated with a mind focused on their intent and meaning. This is how they become an “instrument of thought.” If done without willpower and mental concentration and visualization of the attained end result, they will be lacking energy.

Mantra is the word made flesh

As Djwhal Khul and the Masters of old said, “Where the focus is, so will be the anchorage where descending potencies under mantric inspiration are concerned.” Said in simple terms, the reciting of mantras, if done properly with mental focus and one-pointedness, has the power to anchor certain potent energies onto this dense physical/Earthly plane that hitherto have been unable to descend thus far. This is why in occult philosophy, mantra or mantram, as it is called, is considered “the word made flesh.”

There are many different mantras used for various different purposes. The mantras found on the I AM Tunes have the purpose to evoke the God within you to help you become “God made flesh.”

We each already are God made flesh whether we like it or not, whether we believe it or not, and whether we behave like it or not. We don’t have a choice in the matter, because we did not create ourselves. God created us! And God created us in His/Her image and likeness. However, even though we always have been God, always will be God and are so right now, we each are also in the process of realizing this great truth. The process of realizing our Godliness is called integrated ascension.

Working with mantras is one very powerful tool to support our Self and God Realization. It is one very powerful tool to help evoke the God within us by using (1) the power inherent in the Word and (2) the potency inherent in sound!

In the beginning was The Word

In the Bible it says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1) God created the world by the power of His Word. Since we are made in the image and likeness of God, we also create through the power of our words.

Words are tools we use to manipulate matter. Through speech we bring thoughts out of the abstract realm into the physical plane. Through speech we make the abstract concrete. 

The purpose of life is to demonstrate our Godliness in this world of concrete form. Mantras can help us to fulfil this purpose.
